What did I just do?

For goodness sake... I just went and created myself a blog. Now I'm going to feel obligated to post something here.

OK, for starters, a short bio.

I have been married to my husband since November of 1993, but it feels like I've been married since.... forever. He's probably the only man who could have married me and stayed married to me... I am not the easiest person to like, let alone love. But somehow, he does love me. I'm the lucky one. Poor guy... I'm sure people who know both of us think he's crazy. He must be just a little to want to be with me. However, our daughter makes a big difference in our lives.

I am a 49 yr old mother of (currently) one little girl, adopted at the age of 18 months from China in June of 2004. She is now almost 3.5 yrs old and is the joy of my life. We are in the waiting process for our second daughter. We are considering special needs to speed up the process. Hopefully, we will be able to find our daughter among those children who need families and some medical help... We just want to love our children, bring them up with an understanding and appreciation of their hertiage (my husband and I love Chinese folklore, art, history and culture), and hopefully give them the best start in life that any parent wants for their children. It is unfortunate in one way that since I am not Chinese, I cannot teach my daughter what it is to be Chinese. But we make sure that she has plenty of positive role models from the Asian community at large - and especially among the Chinese individuals living here in town. I want her to be proud of who she is, the country and history from where she came, and to never allow anyone to put her down for who she is.

So, as time permits, I'll be posting probably stories about our daughter, pics, and whatever else comes to mind.
